ROLE OVERVIEW
As HR Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the full employee lifecycle and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of HR administration. Working closely with the Head of People and Culture, you’ll be a first point of contact for People queries, supporting HR initiatives that enhance our employee experience and contribute to a positive and professional workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative support across all areas of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, and offboarding.
- Maintain and update employee records in the HR system, ensuring accuracy and GDPR compliance.
- Co-ordinate recruitment processes: advertising roles, scheduling interviews, liaising with candidates and hiring managers.
- Support the onboarding process for new starters, including contracts, induction scheduling, and right-to-work checks.
- Assist with the implementation of learning and development initiatives, tracking participation and feedback.
- Support wellbeing and diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) programmes and events across the practice.
- Draft letters and documentation for changes to terms and conditions, promotions, and other employee lifecycle events.
- Monitor key HR metrics (e.g., absence, turnover, training uptake) and produce regular reports for management.
- Maintain and improve HR processes and templates, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a friendly and approachable point of contact for employees, escalating complex issues where appropriate.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Essential:
- Experience in an HR administration or co-ordinator role, ideally within a creative, professional services, or design-led environment
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Proactive, collaborative, and approachable manner
- A genuine interest in people, wellbeing, and organisational culture
Desirable:
- Experience within an architecture or design practice
- Familiarity with DEI and sustainability initiatives in the workplace
