Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Finance & Accounts Administrator to support our finance function and ensure smooth, compliant financial operations. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, assisting with VAT submissions, processing payroll, and monitoring expenses. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, accurate, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process incoming and outgoing invoices, payments, and receipts with accuracy and timeliness.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile company bank accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- VAT Management: Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Expense Monitoring: Track and review staff expense claims, ensuring adherence to internal policies.
- Payroll Support: Help administer payroll functions, including timesheet reviews and coordination with payroll providers.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, reports, and ad hoc analysis for management.
- Administrative Support: Maintain financial records, update internal systems, and support general office administration for the finance team.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to answer financial queries and support day-to-day business needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in finance/accounting roles, particularly in accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
- Technical Proficiency: Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and numerical skills.
- Organizational Skills: Able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication for liaising with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
- Teamwork: Proactive, collaborative, and committed to supporting colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
