Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team in providing a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children. As a Play Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting children's development through play, ensuring their well-being while fostering creativity and social skills. This position requires a passion for working with children and the ability to manage various activities that promote learning and fun.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, social interaction, and physical development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to promote a positive environment.
- Manage behaviour in accordance with established policies, using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the play area, ensuring it is safe and welcoming for all children.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create an inclusive atmosphere that meets the diverse needs of all children.
- Drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences through structured play.
Experience
- Previous experience in a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children and adults alike.
- Proven ability to manage groups of children while fostering a positive atmosphere conducive to learning through play.
- A background in childcare or related fields will be an advantage but is not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
