Job Summary:
The After-School Club Lead is responsible for the overall planning, organization, and daily operation of the after-school program. This role involves creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children of various ages, developing engaging activities, managing staff, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and school administration. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, organized, and experienced leader with a strong commitment to child development and recreational programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Implementation:
- Design, plan, and implement a diverse range of age-appropriate and engaging activities (e.g., arts and crafts, sports, educational games & creative play).
- Ensure the program content aligns with the organization's values and goals.
- Regularly review and update program offerings based on student interests and feedback.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate after-school club staff.
- Schedule staff, manage attendance, and approve timesheets.
- Provide ongoing professional development and support to the team.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
- Child Supervision & Welfare:
- Always ensure the safety and well-being of all children, adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and manage student registration/check-out processes.
- Handle minor incidents, conflicts, and behavioural issues in a positive and constructive manner.
- Administer basic first aid as needed and ensure proper procedures are followed for medical emergencies.
- Administrative & Operational Management:
- Manage the club's budget, resources, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records including attendance, health and safety logs, incident reports, and staff files.
- Ensure the club operates in compliance with all local, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the club premises.
- Communication & Stakeholder Relations:
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding program activities, student progress, and any concerns.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Collaborate with school administration, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and support for students.
- Address parent inquiries and feedback professionally and promptly.
- Promotion of Club
- Assist in the promotion of the after-school club to prospective families.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leading or managing children's programs, preferably in an after-school or recreational setting.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Clear PVG check and child protection clearances.

- Child Development Knowledge: Understanding of child development stages and best practices in child supervision.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and student needs.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 27 per week
