Are you passionate about improving lives and making a real difference in your community? Cheltenham Borough Council is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Adaptations Coordinator to support our Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) Team. Help residents live safely and independently in their homes by coordinating vital adaptations across all housing tenures; including homes which are rented from the council, social landlords, private landlords and privately owned.

Cheltenham Borough Council is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Adaptations Coordinator to support our Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) Team. Help residents live safely and independently in their homes by coordinating vital adaptations across all housing tenures; including homes which are rented from the council, social landlords, private landlords and privately owned.
What You’ll Do
- Be the first point of contact for referrals from Occupational Therapists and residents seeking home adaptations.
- Manage and update multiple databases including Uniform, internal spreadsheets, and Housing Services systems.
- Conduct means tests for DFG applications, handle sensitive financial data, and signpost applicants to relevant benefits.
- Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to ensure smooth processing—from asbestos surveys to land registry checks.
- Allocate referrals, support Surveyors and Grant Officers, and help determine the most suitable adaptation route.
- Maintain accurate casework records and prepare reports to support decision-making.
- Administer payments, manage shared mailboxes, and oversee web content related to DFG services.
- Handle low-level case management for straightforward DFG cases as needed.
