We are looking for experienced, skilled, and qualified Specialist Mentors to join our team of professionals who provide 1:1 support to disabled students.
Specialist Mentors provide support to students with various and sometimes complex conditions including Autism Spectrum, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), mental health conditions, communication or organisation difficulties and long-term conditions. You will build professional working relationships with a case load of students combining a person-centred approach with an understanding of the student’s condition, to support students with their academic progress.
You will have a membership of a professional body and qualifications as recognised within the DfE Mandatory Criteria for Specialist Study Skills (document available to download from https://www.practitioners.slc.co.uk/media/1987/final-nmh-qualifications-matrix-july2023.pdf ) the details of accepted professional membership bodies are on page 8 - 11.
The post is paid at £35.00 per hour, and the hours available are determined by your availability and specialism.
