We are a traditional but very modern five partner practice offering a high standard of clinical care within a friendly atmosphere.
The practice is seeking an organised and proactive Practice Administrator to join our friendly team. In this role you will be assisting the Practice Manager with the day to day administrative operations.
Main duties of the job
This is a new role within the surgery to assist the PM, summary of tasks, but may evolve over time:
- Main duties and responsibilities:
- To support the Practice Manager (PM) in ensuring the effective and efficient management of the practice
- To assist the PM in ensuring compliance with all current legislation and regulations governing the delivery of primary care services
- Book-keeping: inputting of Purchase invoices, producing Sales invoices (Prepare sales invoices e.g. Leweston, YTFC, Flu, Medical/Insurance invoices)
- Assist in the Recruitment of practice employees; DBS, setting up windows/email account, applying for Smartcard and access to SystmOne, liaise with line managers for inductions and training
- Maintaining team polices on TeamNet (overview of all existing policies) including Nurses polices (under guidance of lead nurse)
- Monitoring and liaising with managers for employees training on TeamNet
- Maintaining/reviewing practice website
- Maintaining and adding to weekly Socials with health campaigns and notices from the practice
- Action/monitoring monthly premises checks e.g. Meter readings, cleaning audits etc
- Action Infection Control Audits (under guidance of lead nurse)
- PPG administrator
- Nurses admin e.g. non-clinical policies as instructed by Lead Nurse
- Nurses rota
- Action private documentation e.g. medicals/insurance
- Assist with seasonal health campaigns/clinic prep e.g. Flu, Covid, RSV etc
- Preparing MDT team links for the monthly Frailty MDT and Safeguarding MDT
- Ad hoc HR audits as requested e.g. DBS annual Dec, workstation, annual Dec
- Order monthly station order
- Assist with preparing for CQC Assessment
- Monitoring/preparing equipment/PAT testing annually

The Apples Medical Centre is a long established five partner practice of 5566 patients within sight of both historic Sherborne Castles. We are a modern thinking Dispensing Practice, with an emphasis on traditional continuity of care.
The Practice has a higher than average remuneration and a manageable doctor to patient ratio. We achieve high QOF points and our latest CQC inspection rated the Practice as Good.
We have a high patient satisfaction rate and dispense to 1975 of our patient population.
We commenced with eConsult, in additional to our Telephone consultations and Email communication. We offer of mixture of pre-bookable and book on the day.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12,380.94 per year
