About Us
Birmingham City Football Club is building an ambitious and professional environment to support elite performance on and off the pitch. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join our Men’s First Team operations at the Elite Performance & Innovation Centre.
This role is vital in ensuring our players and staff are fully prepared, with training and match kit presented to the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and professionalism.
The Role
The Laundry Assistant will work closely with the Kit & Equipment team to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for washing, drying, and preparing kit to meet tight schedules, helping the team deliver an elite-level service. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, dry, and press training wear, match kits, and other items for players and staff.
- Ensure all kit is cleaned to the highest standards and returned promptly for use.
- Prepare and organise kit for training sessions and fixtures.
- Assist with packing and preparing kit for home and away matches.
- Maintain laundry and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organised manner.
- Monitor and report any damage, shortages, or kit issues to the Head of Kit & Equipment.
- Follow health & safety procedures when using laundry equipment and handling cleaning products.
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and matchdays, in line with football schedules.
About You
You’ll be hardworking, reliable, and team-focused, with a strong work ethic and pride in maintaining the highest standards. Experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or kit environment is essential, with an understanding of fabric care and commercial equipment. Previous experience in sport or a professional club environment is desirable but not essential.
Essential:
- Experience in laundry, housekeeping, or kit management.
- Understanding of fabric care and commercial washing/drying equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with high standards of cleanliness.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Flexible, proactive, and trustworthy.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a professional sports or high-performance environment.
- Knowledge of kit and equipment operations within football.
- Full UK driving licence (due to location/travel requirements).
