Head of Property Management – Newcastle
£35,000 Basic + Commission | OTE £45,000+
A respected and growing property business in Newcastle is seeking a confident, experienced, and driven Head of Property Management to lead and oversee the residential property management function.
This is a senior position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about delivering outstanding service, and can take ownership of both strategy and day-to-day operations.
Role Overview
As Head of Property Management, you will manage and grow a portfolio of residential properties while overseeing a small team and ensuring consistent service excellence for both landlords and tenants. You’ll act as the senior point of contact, lead compliance and operational processes, and play a key role in scaling the department further.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a residential property portfolio in the Newcastle area
- Lead and mentor junior property management staff
- Ensure compliance with all property legislation and internal procedures
- Liaise with landlords and tenants on complex issues, including maintenance, disputes, and tenancy queries
- Manage contractor relationships and oversee repairs and inspections
- Take ownership of deposit disputes and end-of-tenancy processes
- Continuously improve service levels, documentation, and internal systems
- Contribute to company growth through operational improvements and landlord retention
Candidate Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in residential property management (senior or lead role preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of lettings legislation and compliance (ARLA qualified desirable)
- Leadership qualities with a proactive, hands-on approach
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Full UK driving licence (pool car or mileage allowance provided)
Salary, Hours & Benefits
- Basic salary: £35,000
- OTE: £45,000+ (commission based on performance and retention)
- Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:30pm (some Saturdays on rota)
