Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people? We are looking for dedicated and empathetic Key Workers to join our team, providing support and guidance to looked after children and care leavers (aged 16-25). In this role, you'll help empower young people as they navigate their journey towards independence and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to young people in care, building positive, trusting and meaningful relationships.
- Assist with daily tasks, such as managing appointments, education or employment commitments, and life skills development.
- Encourage, support and empower young people to set and achieve personal goals.
- Support the emotional and psychological well-being of the young people, offering a stable, safe, secure and nurturing environment.
- Advocate on behalf of young people, ensuring their voice is heard and respected, and their needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, families, and wider professionals to create a personalised plan of support, and to provide updates on progress or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and update changes where necessary.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, record all relevant information, and report all incidents as appropriate.
- Ensure the home environment is maintained to a high standard.
About You:
- Experience working with young people (aged 16-25) in a supportive environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and committed to supporting vulnerable young people and an ability to support differing behaviours.
- Understanding of and commitment to ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive, resilient attitude with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- A strong desire to improve opportunities and provide positive experiences for young people to enable them to be better prepared for independent living.
- Have a minimum NVQ level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards.
