Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, home care environments, and hospice care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Support clients with meal preparation and dietary needs.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain safety.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the nursing staff or management.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or home care setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Experience in medication administration and patient care will be advantageous.
- Skills in childcare or hospice care can be beneficial for specific client needs.
- A background in nursing or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.
