Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to join our growing fintech team. In this role, you will ensure SSV SmartPay operates within all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. You will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining robust compliance frameworks and policies, supporting our operational teams, and acting as the go-to expert on regulatory matters including FCA requirements, AML, and data protection.
You will work closely with leadership, operations, and technology teams to ensure that compliance is embedded in our culture and that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain, and oversee compliance policies and procedures aligned with relevant laws and regulations
· Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to internal processes
· Conduct risk assessments and advise on controls to mitigate compliance risks
· Lead AML and KYC processes, ensuring adherence to FCA and other regulatory frameworks
· Provide compliance training and guidance to staff across the organisation
· Review and approve new products, services, and processes from a regulatory perspective
· Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, audits, and compliance-related inquiries
· Investigate and resolve compliance issues or breaches, implementing corrective actions where necessary
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and reporting for internal and external purposes

Qualifications & Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or related field
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a compliance role within fintech, banking, or financial services
· Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, AML requirements, GDPR, and open banking compliance
· Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing compliance frameworks
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency with compliance and risk management tools
· Commercial awareness and the ability to balance regulatory requirements with business needs
Good to Have
Experience in the following areas will make your application stand out:
· Prior experience in a startup or scaling fintech environment
· Knowledge of international compliance standards and cross-border payments
· Certified compliance or AML qualifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS)
