Job Purpose

The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and auditing candidate documentation and pre-employment checks to ensure they meet Ofsted/CQC regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards prior to the candidate starting employment. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding by ensuring only fully compliant staff begin work with Keys Group.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and audit candidate files to confirm all documentation aligns with Ofsted./CQC requirements and Keys Group policies.
  • Verify all required pre-employment checks have been completed, including:
  • Enhanced DBS checks
  • Right to Work documentation
  • Employment history (with full gaps explained)
  • References (including at least one from the most recent employer)
  • Qualifications and relevant training
  • Liaise with recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates to chase missing information or resolve compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the compliance tracking system.
  • Ensure all compliance checks are completed prior to a candidate’s start date.
  • Keep abreast of changes in Ofsted/CQC regulations and update internal procedures accordingly.
  • Assist in internal audits and support the preparation of files for external inspection where necessary.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on compliance status to our operations team.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a compliance, safeguarding, HR, or recruitment administration role (preferably in education, social care, or a regulated environment).
  • Strong understanding of safer recruitment practices and Ofsted standards (or a willingness to quickly learn).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple candidate files simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident using databases, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office tools.
