Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the accounting department by managing various financial tasks and ensuring accurate record-keeping. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and processing of accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Support the month-end closing process by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Assist with data entry and maintain organised filing systems for financial documents.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Respond to inquiries from suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding account status and payment issues.
Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant role or similar position is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks, is highly desirable.
- A basic understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reporting would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
