Job description

Carmelcrest is a Main Building Contractor based in Bishops Stortford. We undertake high quality commercial construction services in the Healthcare, Education, Local Authority, Leisure and Blue Light sectors.

We are looking for a driven Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking for their first or 2nd job in business and wants to learn and progress within a growing company.

This is a varied role and you will be involved with general office administration as well as performing tasks in the Accounts department.

**Full training will be provided!**

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Answering Phones

Greeting / teas & coffee

Office upkeep & stationary

Training matrix management (Assistance to Business Manager)

Sub-contractor ordering

Materials purchasing

Plant hire management

O&Ms

Supplier insurance upkeep

Agency labour management

Defects, callouts, finishing & maintenance management

New enquiries process

Assisting with any and all office based administration tasks where required

Printing site files

Opening credit accounts with suppliers

New project setup process

Budget control processes (Handover, Budget and CVR meetings)

Purchase Order Chasing

Practical Completion Certificate Chasing

Valuation Management & Master Programme Updating

Chasing of Payment Certificates

Tracking retentions

Framework reporting

QS Support

QS Support (MTC specific)

Sales & Credit Control Processes:

Sales invoices

Debtor chasing

Purchase Processes:

Sub-contractor applications management

Purchase invoice data entry

Trade creditor payment runs

Proforma payment process

CIS Labour only payment runs

General Finance Processes:

Bank reconciliation

Nominal reconciliation

ONS Survey submission

VAT returns submission and payment

Parking Fine management

Role Requirements

-Positive attitude. The type of person who is willing to help and be flexible day to day. Even helping others in their roles, or working in another department where needed, and doing so with a good heart.

-Good ICT skills, the successful candidate needs to have high quality skills in MS Office packages, Office 365/Outlook emails and MS Excel.

-Problem solver, in this role you will be asked to take on projects of varying natures. You will be expected to deliver these project to a high quality with minimal hand-holding / supervision.

Other Information

-Office location is Bishops Stortford.

-Home working not an option for this role, fully office based.

-Full time: Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-4pm.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £20,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
