Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Workers to join our team. We are NOT a domiciliary care agency. We provide personal assistants to clients in their own homes as an alternative care choice. You will be employed by any client you take on, but a representative of Unigol Cyf.
The ideal candidates will provide essential assistance to individuals in various settings.
Clients are varied and each client will have different needs and different abilities. This role involves supporting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and fostering a positive environment for personal growth and independence. It may also include personal care as well as taking individuals out either in your vehicle or in transport that they have.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and autism. We also have clients with Parkinsons, Motor Nurone Disease and Multiple Scelorosis.
- Maintain cleanliness in living spaces by performing house keeping duties
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Prompt medications as required and under the direction of the individual.
- Utilise equipment such as hoists and wheelchairs for safe patient transfers when necessary.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop effective support strategies for each client.
- Build long term client relationships through compassion and trust
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health care, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
- A compassionate approach towards care and support, with a focus on enhancing clients' quality of life.
