U-Turn in Life Skills Ltd has opportunities for individuals with experience working in a residential children’s setting. All children’s residential setting staff must be 21 years or older. Our home can accommodate children up to the age of 18.
Care and support staff will be required to act as role models for the children and young people and lead by example. They must use careful language and be committed to the longevity of service within the company. Care and support staff must comfortably pass the training and knowledge side of the induction before commencing any shadowing within the home where the children are.
Care and support workers will be under close supervision for the probation period. Still, the home manager and the leadership team aim to ensure that all care and support staff progress in their professional careers and meet academic and professional promotion targets.
Care and support staff will be involved in day-to-day activities and tasks within the home. It must show initiative in developing and implementing activities with an educational outcome where possible. Care and support staff are to ensure that day-to-day safety applies within the home and act where they feel there is concern. Care and support will be required as all staff are to participate in the general upkeep of the home, including cleaning and cooking duties. Care and support staff must have an eye for detail regarding the progression and behaviour of the children and young people and have a can-do attitude.
Empathy, compassion, time commitment, and caring are the core qualities that U-Turn in Life skills required within the role of care and support worker. You must demonstrate these abilities while working in our home, caring for and supporting the children and young people.
