Job Title: Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Hinckley
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shifts: Rotational shifts including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins

We are a well-established and supportive children’s residential care provider committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. Our homes provide a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. We are now looking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our passionate team in Hinckley.
The Role:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting both the young people and the wider staff team. You will act as a positive role model and provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to children and young people in line with their individual care plans
- Lead shifts and supervise a team of support workers
- Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring regulatory compliance (Ofsted standards)
- Support the development and implementation of therapeutic and behaviour management strategies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews
- Promote a safe, supportive, and homely environment
- Actively participate in team meetings, training, and development opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A compassionate, resilient, and proactive approach
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and sleep-ins
- A full UK driving licence – desirable
