Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Well-being Coordinator to join our vibrant Well-being/Activities programme within our care home. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, particularly those in assisted living and dementia care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care, a strong ability to communicate effectively, and a creative flair for organising engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being among residents.
- Coordinate daily activities, ensuring they are inclusive and accessible for all residents, including those with varying levels of mobility and cognitive abilities.
- Foster a warm and welcoming environment by encouraging resident participation in activities and providing individual support as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to identify residents' interests and preferences, tailoring activities to enhance their overall experience.
- Organise special events, outings, and themed days that stimulate social interaction and foster community spirit within the care home.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback from residents to continually improve the programme.
Skills
- Proven experience in a similar role within a nursing home or care home setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- A genuine passion for caring for seniors, particularly those requiring dementia care or assisted living support.
- Creative thinking with the ability to design innovative activities that cater to diverse interests.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in planning events and managing schedules.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated to initiate new ideas.
- Have basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) to create planners and calendars.
