£17.25 per hour (Including £1.50 enhancement rate for weekends)
We are looking for a weekend cook to join our small family run care home in Park Gate, to prepare home-cooked nutritious, balanced meals to a high standard with the ability to cater to individual needs. You will need to be an organised person, who is self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team.
Our residents have a mixture of needs, so being patient and kind are essential skills.
Hours of work - 7:00 am - 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday
Applicants should hold Food Hygiene Certificate, and able to produce good home cooking alongside:
- To control stocks and purchases, thereby allocating the quantities of materials.
- To keep the purchase of materials within allocated budgets.
- To maintain a balanced diet and varied menus.
- To be aware of the care users’ needs and dietary preferences.
- To ensure that all kitchen staff are trained within the requirements of current legislation.
- To maintain the kitchen equipment, as specified by respective manufacturers and clean in accordance with our checklists.
- Contribute to menu creation
- To ensure that all kitchen staff clean the kitchen after use and, at the end of each shift, leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
