Play an integral role in improving dignity, independence, and quality of life for people in Leicester.

Leicester’s a vibrant, exciting and diverse city with a lot of complex needs, offering a variety of interesting social care challenges. That’s why we’re proud of the different approaches we take to support people across the city. We work with Think Local, Act Personal to create a person-centred approach in Adult Care and have strong relationships with local partners, such as the NHS and the police. Working with individual’s own abilities, family and the wider community you’ll put them at the heart of all you do.

We have a full time, permanent position working 37 hours per week. Core working hours are typically 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4.30pm on a Friday. A rota will be discussed and agreed upon at appointment to suit your needs.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll receive calls from people and professionals where you’ll carry out assessments over the phone to identify what action is required. As the first point of contact for people requiring our services, all advice must be responsive and effective especially in emergency situations. You’ll provide clear and accurate information, advice, and services, ensuring communication is of a timely manner to management so follow up on calls can be actioned. In addition, you’ll offer support to the team by providing an effective system for booking and dealing with enquiries.

What you’ll need

With a commitment to working in partnership with people and their carers to understand their needs. You’ll be able to accurately gather the details of queries over the phone. With a professional manner remaining calm in all situations. You’ll have great communications and interpersonal skills. Being able to provide the caller with helpful advice and support.

With some previous experience in a social care setting you’ll be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to organise and team work successfully.

What we can offer you

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working.

We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including childcare vouchers, discounts on city buses and trains and help with relocation to Leicester, where appropriate. For an illustrative value of your benefits package, take a look at our benefits calculator.
