Join our dedicated team in the heart of Leicester (LE2 area/ or other areas within Leicestershire if required) that provides short-term and long-term accommodation for homeless individuals. We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for our residents, helping them rebuild their lives and access the support they need.
Roles and Duties:
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Individuals: Providing guidance and assistance to residents with various aspects of their lives, including attending GP appointments, navigating benefit systems, and submitting housing applications.
- Promoting Wellbeing: Fostering a culture of mental and physical wellbeing by offering emotional support to residents in need.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Being flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of the residents and the service.
- Cleaning: In addition to the support duties, this role will also involve cleaning responsibilities to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for the residents.
- Experience: Utilising your experience and empathy to work effectively with individuals who may be experiencing mental health challenges and substance misuse issues.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Experience in working with individuals facing mental health challenges and substance misuse.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with residents.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude to support residents on their journey.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in basic IT skills.
- Capacity to effectively liaise with professionals and other agencies to provide comprehensive support to residents.
