Swan staff Ltd are seeking support workers for a Children’s Service based in Ipswich they are a leading provider of care and education for children and young people with complex needs, including emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges, autism, and learning difficulties.
We are currently seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Agency Support Workers to join our team and help create safe, nurturing, and structured environments for the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, high-quality support to children and young people in residential settings.
- Support the development of daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and life skills.
- Manage challenging behaviours with a calm, trauma-informed approach.
- Build positive relationships based on trust, safety, and empathy.
- Ensure safeguarding, risk management, and care plans are always followed.
- Promote engagement in education, leisure, and social activities.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people in care, SEN, or similar environments (preferred)
- Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and positive behaviour support
- Resilient, empathetic, and patient under pressure
- Flexible and reliable with strong communication and team-working skills
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (on the update service or willing to apply)
- Mandatory training (e.g. safeguarding, restraint training, first aid) is desirable.
