Support a Young Man with Complex Needs in Plymouth. Monday & Friday – Long or short day shifts available
Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Support Worker to provide care for a 19-year-old male with autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. He also presents with challenging behaviours. He requires support to help him navigate daily life and engage in activities he enjoys.
He lives at home with his mum, dad and older brother in Plymouth. He’s happiest at home - spending time with his family, playing in his sensory garden and hot tub and watching YouTube on his iPad.
Shift Details:
09:00-13:00 Monday & Friday
09:00-20:00 Monday & Friday
Note: This role involves 4:1 support between 09:00-13:00 and 2:1 support from 13:00-20:00. You can work short (morning or afternoon) or long day shifts, depending on your availability. Please contact us if you're interested to chat through your availability.
Pay Rates:
£15.00 p/hr Monday & Friday
£20.55 p/hr Bank Holidays

What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities or challenging behaviours is preferred but not essential as full training and support will be provided
Confidence in managing behaviours with a compassionate and proactive approach
Good communication skills and confidence working in a small team and following a care plan
A willingness to undertake specialist training around restraint and behaviour support
You'll be confident and personable with a calm, patient and understanding approach. You'll be an experienced and resilient Support Worker and be able follow structured routines and respond to sensory needs. You’ll receive full training around challenging behaviours and restraint with ongoing support.
What You'll Need
Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
