Support Worker – Caerphilly (Children’s Package)

Looking to build meaningful experience supporting children with complex needs?
We’re hiring dedicated Support Workers to join an overnight package in Caerphilly. You'll be part of a consistent night team supporting a vibrant little girl with a complex medical history including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, visual impairment, and non-verbal communication.
Her family has worked hard to create a peaceful, organised space where she can rest comfortably. Your role will be to stay nearby and ensure her safety overnight, providing peace of mind for her parents and offering gentle, respectful support.
Key Support Needs:
- Overnight monitoring in the child’s room
- Watching for signs of seizures or distress
- Occasional pad changes (training provided)
- Calm, consistent presence to reassure the child
- Clear handover and respectful communication with the family
About the Client:
- 9 years old with epilepsy, CP, and visual impairment
- Non-verbal but expressive with smiles, cries, and eye contact
- Loves Disney movies and Elvis Presley
- Responds well to gentle touch (arm stroking), dislikes face/hair being touched
- Sleeps in a large cot with ceiling hoist, wheelchair user
What We’re Looking For:
- Experienced with complex needs, especially children
- Calm, confident working independently overnight
- Familiar with epilepsy or PEG care (ideal but not essential)
- Emotionally aware and consistent
- Comfortable in a small care space setup
