You will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the academic and administrative functions of developing the gaming provision within our institution, ensuring it’s in alignment with our vision of putting our students and the heart of everything we do. The postholder will play in critical part in contributing to the overall strategy and LCCA’s pedagogic approach, with the aim to continuously strive for improvement in the delivery and structure of the gaming programmes ensuring student experience, student attainment, retention and continuation is achieved.


You will have a distinct skill set; a ‘can-do’ attitude - and should demonstrate the consistent ability to put the core elements of our learning and teaching philosophy into practice, both in the strategic implementation of experiential teaching activities and in the management of high-class teaching delivery.

Position:

This is a London role but we are also accepting applicants from Birmingham and Nottingham.


Role Summary


  • The Subject Lead is responsible for leading and number of modules in the teaching, curriculum development, and day-to-day management of the Foundation Degree programmes in business, hospitality, and related fields. This includes ensuring high-quality learning experiences that promote student retention, progression, and achievement.
  • The role involves collaboration with the Course Director, contributing to curriculum innovation, professional practice, recruitment, and industry engagement. Teaching will be across weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required.
  • The LCCA Foundation Degree is delivered during weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Candidates should be prepared to teach across these times, depending on their preference, workload, and business needs. Please indicate your preferred teaching schedule (weekdays vs weekends) in your application.
  • The post holder will need an excellent understanding of Foundation Degrees and supporting students from non-traditional backgrounds.


Requirements:

  • Teach and manage a number of modules in the curriculum at Levels 4–5
  • Lead subject-specific planning, assessment, timetabling, and resource management
  • Develop course materials, online content, unit handbooks, and assessment strategies
  • Provide academic and pastoral support;
  • Monitor and ensure student progress across relevant modules
  • Maintain industry links and up to date subject knowledge
  • Lead standardisation and quality assurance processes
  • Participate in recruitment, course committees, and exam boards
  • Contribute to scholarly activity and/or professional practice
  • Support student engagement, progression, and industry-related opportunities
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusivity in all teaching and learning
  • Undertake continuous professional development and manage staff development

Essential

  • Relevant BA and postgraduate qualifications


Desirable

  • PhD or Higher-level research degree
  • Teaching qualification (PGCert of equivalent)- all post holders will be expected to complete a PGCert in education during their employment at LCCA if they do not currently hold one.
  • Fellowship (or Higher) of the Higher Education Academy
