Seeking an experienced teacher or practitioner to oversee the management of their staff team, you will work alongside our Senior Teacher, working opposite hours to enable smooth running of the provision. The individual should be able to capture the imaginations of children, and inspire and engage not only our children, but colleagues and families too. We are looking for those who are forward thinking, infectious and creative to join our staff team and drive our vision forward. The individual should be able to lead their team and support management, establishing themselves as an integral part in the functioning of our busy establishment, striving for outstanding.
Our children and families are looking for those who can plan innovative activities around children’s thoughts, interests and ideas, who have a love of outdoors, natural learning and using senses to explore, but ultimately those who can build relationships with children they will never forget, making their early learning experience special. Individual should have experience of planning for and delivering an outdoor curriculum.
The individual should be able to lead their team, supporting with moderating observations, planning for children's next steps, facilitating sessions for families, creating a curriculum and environment which evokes children's natural curiosity, completing peer observations to monitor quality of teaching within their room, feeding into quality improvement plans and leading staff meetings with their team. The individual should also be confident liaising with a range of professionals, and supporting children with additional needs, completing paperwork to support this. The individual should be trustworthy, and reliable, they will be a key holder and will be responsible for opening or closing the setting on a rota system with management.
Individual should be able to pass DBS and reference checks, ideally hold EYT, QTS, or have a Degree in a relevant subject, hold in date paediatric first aid and experience leading teams within a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Early Years Setting. We would consider someone who holds a relevant Level 3 but is willing to work towards a a Level 5 Managerial qualification in setting, with considerable experience in Early Years. If you have experience of working with children with Special Needs or Disability this would be advantageous. We offer an attractive salary dependent upon experience, and a minimum of ten hours paid paperwork time supernumerary per month, with the option of overtime if desired. If you hold your degree in a relevant subject we can offer opportunity for funded Early Years Teacher qualification in setting, something which can be discussed further at interview.
The individual will be a key worker to a group of children responsible for observing carefully, and planning engaging activities from this for their next steps, liaising closely with families and developing strong relationships.
