Are you passionate about empowering young people and supporting them on their journey to independent living? YMCA Norfolk is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Housing Engagement Workers to lead and inspire our Norwich Community Housing team.
Youll support the Housing Manager to lead a team supporting young people in supported housing, creating a safe and inclusive environment where they can grow, gain life skills, and move toward independent living. From managing support plans and tenancy issues to delivering engaging activities and mentoring staff, youll be at the heart of transforming lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Support Delivery: Develop and oversee personalised support plans, helping young residents build like skills and move toward independent living.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support Housing Engagement Workers, Relief Workers and Volunteers, ensuring high performance and motivation.
- Housing Management: Address tenancy issues, conduct room or property checks, manage anti-social behaviour, and support income recover and budgeting.
- Safeguarding & Compliance: Uphold safeguarding standards, manage risk, and ensure accurate record-keeping in line with YMCA Norfolk policies.
- Partnership & Communication: Work closely with external agencies and other departments to provide holistic, person-centred support.

What youll need to succeed
- Skills: You'll have strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to demonstrate emotional resilience, empathy and a proactive mindset. You'll have a compassionate approach to helping others thrive.
- Experience: You'll have worked with vulnerable people in housing or support settings, and have experience of undertaking needs and risk assessments and support planning.
- Knowledge: Housing legislation and safeguarding practices, as well as an understanding of the benefits system, in particular housing benefit and the welfare reform bill.
- Qualification: GCSEs in Maths and English. Bonus points for housing qualifications, or a willingness to work towards one as and when required.
