Sport Aberdeen is looking for a compassionate and proactive Project Activator (Young Carers) to support our mission of inclusivity in sport. This vital role sits within the Active Schools team and focuses on engaging children and young people with caring responsibilities, helping them access the transformative benefits of sport and physical activity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering targeted support in 1:1 and small group settings to increase participation among young carers.
- Collaborating with third sector partners and schools across Aberdeen to identify and reduce barriers to physical activity
- Championing inclusive practices and advocating for young carers and their families within sporting environments
- Supporting Active Schools specialist programmes to extend the reach and impact of Sport Aberdeen’s work
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children and young people, particularly those from priority or disadvantaged groups.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by young carers and a commitment to promoting their wellbeing.
- Strong interpersonal, partnership-building, and organisational skills.
- A genuine belief in the power of sport to foster confidence, connection and joy.
