With sites near Milton Keynes and Bradford, our team also provides full technical support, in-situ testing, and monitoring for all WJ Contracting divisions and their clients. This is a full-time and permanent position based at our offices near Milton Keynes.
WJ Products Ltd manufactures high-quality road marking materials for the Highway Construction and Maintenance sector. We are the production arm of the WJ Group, the UK’s largest specialist contractor for road marking and surface treatment products.
Job Description
What you will do
Based in our brand new, purpose-built laboratory your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing quality control (QC) testing on our materials
- Supporting product investigations and customer feedback processes
- Supporting calibrating laboratory equipment and ensuring quality standards
- Assisting in raw material evaluation and product development
- Maintaining a clean and safe lab environment
- Participating in site visits to carry out testing (as required)
You’ll be part of a collaborative, friendly team where your input is valued. While some tasks are routine, you’ll have the chance to contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
What you will bring
We’re particularly interested in people who are:
- Self motivated, well organised and methodical but with a creative and flexible approach
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team
- Organised, with a good eye for detail
- Proactive and analytical in their thinking
- Communicative, both verbally and in writing
- Computer literate specifically confident using Microsoft packages such as Excel
Preferably you will hold an A level or equivalent in Chemistry or Physics, you will possess sound technical aptitude and analytical skills gained from your previous experience.
Ideally you would have prior experience of working within a laboratory environment in a materials technology field or similar discipline however not essential to the role.
A full driving licence and own vehicle is required as you will likely complete site visits and testing.
