We have an exciting opportunity for a production quality controller to join our technical team. Smithfield Murray Ltd are a manufacturing organisation with a site based in Trafford Park. we have over twenty year's experience in the food business and specialise in production of various poultry products for UK retail as well as food service in our state-of-the-art factory.
As a Quality Controller you will play a vital role to ensure all the products are manufactured to the highest quality standard. You will be working within the factory supporting the technical team, whilst ensuring compliance with company procedures. Quality control experience within the food industry is preferred, but essential training will also be given to successful candidate.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
- Hours of work are 06:30-16:30, Monday-Friday. As well as working on intake on a rota-based system. These hours would be 05:00-15:00, the successful candidate must be able to do this shift as is mandatory to this position.
- Must be able to work in a chilled environment (temp around 10c and 0-4c in the chiller intake area.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with staff from all departments.
- Team player.
- Good attention to detail.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Identify any non-conforming products and agree corrective actions with internal functions.
- Perform regular online checks such as quality, weights, temperatures etc. To ensure product compliance vs. specification.
- Ensure labelling adhere to correct dates and specification.
- Ensure all tasks have been carried out to correct standard and specification.
- Metal detector checks.
- Ensuring temperature checks are complete.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly checks (GMP, glass audits, fabrication, hygiene etc.)
- Environmental swabbing and sample collection.
- Ensure good manufacturing practices, food safety, quality and health and safety are maintained at all times.
- Actively work towards zero complaints attributable to the team and work to a "Right first time" policy for the production process.
- Inspect the incoming raw material according to the intake procedures documenting all findings.
- Work with the team on continuous improvement tasks.
- Any additional tasks as required due to business requirement.
- This is a full-time permanent Quality Controller position. Pay will start at £12.87 per hour rising to £13.07 after 12weeks, weekly pay. Pay will rise further after completing required skill assessments.
- We also offer £100 per month attendance bonus.
- A pension scheme after 13 weeks of service with a 3% company contribution.
