The role

As a Principal Supplier Quality Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work as part of the Supplier Quality Team being responsible for driving quality assurance and improvement associated with the supply of goods and services to the business.


Day-to-day, you will be supporting the Group Supplier Quality Management team on strategy, objectives and best practice to ensure value adding service delivery, as well as:


  • Approving supplier issued documentation relating to product conformity prior to acceptance by the business, such as management of supplier Inspection & Test Plans, witnessing of control points, special process approval and reviewing product documentation packs.
  • Execution of supplier facing improvement activities to drive right first-time supply of products and services as part of non-conformance management or broader improvement initiatives.

This role is full time working 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements including travel to Plymouth and Leicester.


Essential experience of the Principal Supplier Quality Specialist:

  • Experienced in a lead role in Supplier Quality Assurance team.
  • Quality Management within an engineering or technical environment, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
  • Proficient in the application of lean / CI principles
  • Proficient in leading and conducting quality investigations
  • Strong communicator able to present to all levels

Qualifications for the Principal Supplier Quality Specialist:

  • Relevant Level 5 Qualification or demonstrable experience in relevant engineering/scientific discipline and Level 4 Qualification
  • Certified Lead Auditor

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
