We've offer Eye Examinations and supply a wide range of Fashionable and Interesting Spectacle Frames, we are experts in dispensing the latest spectacle lenses from the major manufacturers such as Zeiss, Essilor and Nikon.

We are looking for an Optical assistant to join our team, to deliver the best Optical products in a friendly and professional manner, and to train to become a fully qualified dispensing Optician.

WHAT YOUR TYPICAL DAY ON RECEPTION MAY LOOK LIKE:
8:45am: Arrive at 22 Westgate Ripon
8:46am: Switch on all Computers and Equipment (we’ve got a lot!)
8:50am: Put the Kettle on for Tea and Coffee
8:55am: Greet First appointment of the day
9:00am: Deal with any post or deliveries
9:45am: Greet Next appointment.
10:30am: Update previous days figures and statistics on Excel
11:00am: Guide Patient through selection of new spectacles
11:30am: Start calling texting or emailing to arrange collections
12:00pm: LUNCH
12:30pm: Enjoy a stroll around Ripon’s historic City
1:00pm: : Greet Next appointment
1:30pm: Adjust spectacles for patient collecting new spectacles
1:45pm: Next appointment should be ready
2.15pm: Minor repair to patients damaged spectacles
2:30pm: Make any more phone calls for collections
3:00pm: Next appointment should be ready Help with NHS forms
3:30pm: Email/post any referrals to NHS, GPs, Clinics or Hospitals
4:00pm: Start preparing Electronic NHS forms for next day’s clinic
4:45pm: Next appointment. Help with NHS forms, maybe a child
5:25pm: Start to balance till and produce end of day reports
5:30pm: As long as all customers have left, switch off all equipment, set alarm and lock up
Obviously days will vary, and we believe in giving you the freedom to prioritise what needs to be done. Usually the most important, is the person in front of you.

The Nitty Gritty:
Work is based at 22 Westgate Ripon. Our other practice is at Boston Spa, Wetherby. It would be an advantage if you had the ability to work there if we ever needed cover.
Days – we are open
Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm
Saturday 9.00am to 4:30pm
Working 5 days per week
We work a rota 1 in 4 weeks not working on Saturday
We're looking for someone who can be in-situ and ready to go before 1st October
Salary
£22,000 to £24,000 per annum
