Responsibilities:
-To co-ordinate and oversee the support and provision for children in our setting with Special Educational Needs.
- To work as a practitioner in the setting alongside the team, with weekly time allocated out of ratio to focus on the SENDCo admin responsibilities.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to play and learn, enabling them to access activities approproate to their level of need and development.
- To have a love of the outdoors and nature supporting children to get out and about safely.
- Oversee and support the team to provide nurture group time and activities to reflect individual support plans and meet children's needs.
- Co-ordinate the admin of funding or additional support applications, support plans and liaising with other agencies.
- Communicate effectively with parents orother agencies regarding their child's day and any concerns or updates.
- Be a source of support for the team and parents, identify where help is needed and suggest strategies, resources and provision where necessary.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with young children essential.
- Hold a minimum Childcare Level 3 qualification.
- Knowledge of child development, SEND and age-appropriate activities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
