Neighbourhood Officer Leicestershire, Warwickshire

Platform Housing Group
£32,972 - £36,635 a year
Leicester, England
Full time

Are you passionate about making a difference and improving our Neighbourhoods?

Now is a great time to join Platform. We are a dynamic, forward-thinking social housing business who offer employees an inclusive and supportive environment with excellent benefits and family friendly policies.

Our Neighbourhood Officers are at the heart of what we do as an organisation. We have a great opportunity for a Neighbourhood Officer to join our Localities team providing a comprehensive housing management service, working with communities and neighbourhoods around Leicester and North Leicestershire.

You’ll be someone who takes a hands-on approach, helping customers to manage their tenancies and improve our neighbourhoods for everyone. Most of the time you’ll be out and about in your patch, working closely with customers to promote sustainable tenancies and developing strong relationships with local communities.

Due to internal patch arrangements, there is flexibility in location. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates based in or near Leicestershire, Warwickshire, or South Staffordshire.

This role is being offered on a 9-month Fixed Term Contract.

What you could be doing as one of our Neighbourhood Officers:

The Neighbourhood Officer will be responsible for visiting customers providing advice, reviewing tenancies and identifying any problems. You’ll be regularly inspecting our estates, raising, reporting and monitoring to a successful conclusion any safeguarding concerns.

You’ll also be responsible for playing a key role in developing strong relationships within local communities, working collaboratively with other agencies and Platform colleagues.

Other key responsibilities include managing and investigating tenancy issues such as anti-social behaviour, condition of property, fly tipping or safeguarding concerns. You will also undertake new tenancy sign-ups and accompanied viewings for new customers.

Ideally, you’ll be based in Leicestershire, to meet the needs of the role.

Some things we need from you:

  • Experience of working in the social housing sector, particularly with a background of dealing with tenancy management, ASB and safeguarding.

  • This will be a role well suited to someone with experience of working closely with customers to tackle complex issues.

  • You’ll be proactive in your approach, organised and have the ability prioritise your time to meet timeframes.

  • You’ll have excellent communication skills and a customer focused approach, understanding the importance of delivering a high standard of service.

  • This role involves regular travel. A driving licence and use of your own vehicle or alternative means of getting to the required locations is essential.

  • The candidate will need to be located in a suitable area to travel easily around the required location.

  • This role will require an Enhanced DBS check.

Join us and find your purpose at Platform!

Working with us is more than just a job, you will be joining an amazing organisation that values you and your contribution, and where you can truly make a difference and change people’s lives.

You will join the largest social housing association in the Midlands. We're much more than just houses; we build homes, strong communities, and make a real and positive difference to the lives of our customers.

We recognise the unique and individual needs of people, so if you are interested in this role but would like to explore a different way of working to the standard Monday to Friday, 9-5 approach, then please highlight this on your application or discuss it with us at the interview stage. After all, we want to attract the best people to work for us and we know that one size does not fit all.

Platform is a great place to work, we offer lots of opportunities for you to get involved, share ideas and shape what we do - from networking groups through to fun community and social events. This is an exciting time to join us, that will provide you with real exposure to the wider dynamics of a truly modern housing association that will play a major part in delivering our 5-year corporate strategy.

If we receive a high number of applications, this vacancy may expire prior to the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Platform Housing Group are committed to building a healthy, vibrant and inclusive organisation that treats people with respect and creates opportunities for all.
