The MRP & Inventory Controller will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective supply of raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods required for bakery operations. This role manages supplier relationships and uses the MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system to optimise stock levels, minimise waste, and guarantee continuous production flow in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Raising Purchase Orders for ingredients and packaging for four bakery locations
- Expediting deliveries where necessary
- Running MRP daily and raising Purchase Orders accordingly
- Arranging for stock transfers from Bakery to Bakery, in case of any shortages
- Supporting the Group Head of Procurement and the wider team
- Develop strong strategic relationships with suppliers.
- Ensuring ingredients and packaging are delivered on time and in full.
- Review order quantities to ensure we don’t over order or under order.
- Raising any discrepancies with suppliers
- Resolving day to day issues as and when they arise
- Update weekly VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) sheets (currently with 5 suppliers)
- Raising new codes on Sage for Ingredients and Packaging
MRP & Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate MRP data within ERP / production planning systems.
- Review forecasts, production plans, and stock levels to raise timely purchase orders.
- Balance stock holding against working capital targets while ensuring 100% service to production.
- Liaise with production planning, warehousing, and quality teams to resolve supply issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, planning, quality, technical, NPD and finance to ensure material availability aligns with operational and commercial needs.
- Establish key relationships with Bakery Managers and Stores Supervisors / personnel over 4 bakery locations
- Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings to provide material supply insights.
- Support continuous improvement projects in procurement and planning processes.

- Strong IT literacy with particular focus on Microsoft Word and Excel
- You will need to have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing workload, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work within a cross functional team
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years’ experience in a MRP, supply chain, or planning in FMCG (bakery/food industry advantageous).
- Proficient in using Sage or similar ERP/MRP platform.
KPIs / Success Measures
- Supplier OTIF (On Time In Full) performance.
- Raw material and packaging availability for production.
- Inventory accuracy and minimisation of write-offs.
