Motor Mechanic

Vehicle Mechanic – Full Time – Small Family-Owned Dealership

We are a small, family-owned used car dealership seeking a skilled and dependable Vehicle Mechanic to join our friendly team. This is a varied and hands-on role involving the mechanical preparation of our own retail stock, routine servicing, diagnostic work, and occasional warranty repairs. While there may be some customer interaction regarding repairs or handovers, all work is carried out in-house – we do not take on outside jobs.

Working hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday – 9am to 5pm
(Thursday and Sunday off)

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs across a wide range of vehicles
• Perform routine servicing and pre-delivery inspections (PDIs)
• Complete warranty work on vehicles we have sold, where required
• Ensure all vehicles are safe, roadworthy and prepared to a high standard
• Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools confidently
• Maintain accurate records of all work completed
• Liaise with customers where necessary in a professional and friendly manner
• Work closely with the general manager to prioritise and plan workload

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic or technician
• Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical knowledge
• Ability to work independently and take pride in a job well done
• Confident with modern diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
• Own tools required ( We have a workshop with a new full rise two-post ramp)
• Honest, dependable and approachable, with a positive attitude
