Job Summary
We are recruiting for an individual with a sports background to support our new Empower Programme. Empower is a structured programme designed for learners in year 6, 7 and 8, who experience difficulties with emotional regulation and behaviour. Through engaging activities, group discussions, hands-on learning and sports. Students will build essential life skills that support their emotional and social development. As a Mentor you will be working alongside the Tutor working with small groups, supporting both classroom and practical sports sessions at our onsite facilities
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical sports based sessions
- To support the delivery of daily activities to promote and enhance learner engagement.
- Implement positive behavioural strategies.
- Support learners to realise their academic potential
- Supporting pupils within a mentoring capacity both in and out of the classroom environment
- You’ll take an active role in prompting and guiding discussions
Qualification/Experience
- Experience working with young people within a sport, education, or youth work setting.
- Proven experience in sports coaching (preferably L2 qualification)
- Teaching qualification (equivalent to PTTLS certification) or relevant experience
- Experience working with challenging behaviour

Working hours are Monday and Tuesday, 9.30-2.30pm (Term time only)
