About the Role:
Are you a manual machinist with experience operating manual machine tools such vertical/horizontal lathes, milling and drilling machines in a manufacturing environment? Are you passionate about managing customer expectations and problem solving? If so, our service centre in Middleton, Manchester may hold your next career move.
You will be capable of interpreting technical drawings and working to tight tolerances as precision is paramount. You also have a good understanding of machine shop practices, tooling and safety procedures. You will be responsible for inspecting your own work and carrying out quality checks to ensure it meets required standards. A comprehensive understanding of measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers calipers, dial indicators etc is necessary for this job role.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will be a time-served manual machinist/technician qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent with strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. You will be a natural problem solver who is able to use their initiative to find solutions to solve immediate and longer-term issues. A team player and an effective communicator, it is essential you will have a strong regard for health and safety. Having fitting and assembly experience would also be an advantage
