Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the logistics operations, ensuring efficient transportation and distribution of goods. This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in logistics software, and the ability to analyse data effectively.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee daily logistics operations, including transportation and warehousing activities.
- Utilise Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimise shipping routes and reduce costs.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of shipments and inventory levels.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while handling inquiries and resolving issues related to logistics operations.
- Use AS400 and SyteLine systems for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Analyse logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is essential.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
- Experience with AS400 or SyteLine software is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong analytical skills to assess logistics processes and implement improvements.
