Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Farnham
Up to 15 hours per week – Days and times to be confirmed
£18.00–£25.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Are you a confident, creative and child-centred Learning Support Assistant looking to make a real difference? We’re looking for someone special to support a bright and imaginative young person in the Farnham area on a one-to-one basis.
This role involves supporting learning in a non-school setting using a child-led, creative approach. The young person learns best through imaginative and playful methods – such as role play, storytelling, movement, art and hands-on activities. Sessions must feel positive, fun and relaxed, not formal or school-like, as this can be a trigger.
You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging sessions that follow the Key Stage 2 curriculum, while being carefully adapted to suit the child’s interests and needs. Creativity, flexibility and thinking outside the box are key to helping them enjoy and connect with their learning.
You will need to:
- Have experience with Key Stage 2 and supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and PDA
- Be confident in working alongside the child’s EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan)
- Use a child-led approach and tailor sessions in a fun, meaningful way
- Be creative and organised in planning learning activities
- Understand the importance of first impressions and building trust
- Be flexible, patient, and able to adapt calmly to the child’s needs
- Be happy to meet the young person as part of the recruitment process – they’d like to be involved in choosing their LSA.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children in a nurturing, imaginative and positive way. If that sounds like you – we’d love to hear from you.
