Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Cook, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all dishes are prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and culinary best practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in the planning and development of menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being able to take initiative when required.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
