Overview
Kitchen Assistant/Cook required to join our friendly team at Regency House Residential Home. Successful applicant will be required to assist with preparing meals that are nourishing and well-presented, there may also be days where you will be required to work as Cook during the weekly rota. Success applicant will be required to work weekends.
Working shift times:
Kitchen Assistant: 8am - 2.30pm
Cook: 9am - 5pm
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- To prepare and cook meals that will be suitable for residents currently living in our home.
- To take personal interest in the residents in order to be fully aware of their culinary likes and dislikes.
- To cater for special dietary needs.
- Keep up to date with the latest techniques regarding cooking for an older person and prepare wholesome meals suited to their dietary requirements.
- To be aware of the rules of Health and Safety at Work in relation to the kitchen and kitchen practice.
- Cleaning duties.
- Completion of daily paperwork.
- Assist Cook in the daily running of the kitchen when working as a Kitchen Assistant
Applicants must be willing to take part in training to achieve a basic food hygiene certificate, HACCAP and will have the opportunity to complete a QCF qualification.
Enhanced DBS check required. The cost of DBS to be met by the applicant.
1 x free uniform annually
Pay: £12.21-£13.25 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 18 per week
