Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Cook to lead our 5 star kitchen team, and manage the department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and meal preparation, ensuring that our culinary offerings meet the highest standards of quality and safety. As the Head Cook, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious and innovative dishes while maintaining a well-organised and compliant kitchen environment.
Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking processes.
- Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and efficient meal preparation.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure customer satisfaction through quality food service.
- Assist in the planning of special events or catering services as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook in a Care Home or similar culinary environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent skills in meal preparation, with a keen eye for detail in presentation and flavour.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
