Summary
We are seeking a Handy Man to join our team at Sylvan Home Care Services, located in Wirral. This role is essential in ensuring that our clients' homes are safe and well-maintained, contributing significantly to our mission of providing exceptional home care services.
Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance and repairs around clients' homes.
- Ensure safety standards are met and maintained.
- Assist with minor electrical and plumbing tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with care staff to address clients' needs effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients and their families.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or clients.
- Uphold the values of compassion and integrity in all interactions.
- Qualifications
Proven experience in maintenance or maintenance person services.
- Strong electrical experience is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks as required within the home and its surroundings as requested
- Ensure the Home is in good decorative order including assistance in preparing vacant rooms
- Comply with the Handyperson task specification,
- Maintain statutory and legal requirements such as Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety, PAT, in order to maintain a safe environment throughout the care home
- Carry out specific maintenance and regular safety checks (including fire, legionella and portable appliance testing) whilst keeping up to date records of the checks
- Report any accidents, incidents, or deficiencies to the Home Manager
- Liaise with external contractors entering the home when carrying out authorised work to ensure that all requirements relating to Health and Safety and the Health and Social Care Act legislation are fully met.
