We are a growing manufacturing company with over 20 years of experience in GRP production. Our main areas of work includes canopies and dormers for new build housing and play equipment for various companies nationwide. We also offer larger scale theming products, such as the Bears of Sheffield in 2021.
Job Summary
Working in a fast paced department you will work on a range of GRP products. You will need to use your skills to complete the required workload to the manufacturing specifications. You will need an eye for detail and be committed to delivering high quality products. You will be able to work independently or within a team to achieve team targets.
This position reports to the GRP Workshop Manager.
Main Purpose of the Job
· Mould preparation (waxing)
· Gelcoating / flowcoating
· Applying decals according to the provided drawings
· Using materials correctly, e.g. correct ratios for catalyst / resin
· Laminating – hand lay up and using choppy system
· Trimming products – wet and dry glass
· Bonding in metal or woods
· Finishing products to high standard
· Painting and touching up products using aerosol sprays
· Inspecting finished products for accuracy and quality, identifying laminating defects
· Wrapping products ready for dispatch
· Assisting with dispatch of products in line with delivery notes
· Keep control of stock, notifying Team Leader of any shortages prior to running out
· Record daily time spent on jobs on a weekly time sheet
· Keep work area clean and tidy
· Occasional site work carrying out GRP repairs
· Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE
· Follow internal processes and procedures
· Meet production targets and deadlines
· Help develop and improve processes to improve quality and efficiency
Skills and Experience
Essential
· Good verbal communication skills
· Punctuality and good attendance
Desirable
· Experience in GRP laminating
· Proficient in operating hand power tools
We operate a 4 day week, Monday to Thursday and pension after 3 months.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.20-£14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37 per week
