We’re looking for a skilled Finishing & Packaging Operator to join the production team at Paragon’s Nottingham site. This is a full-time, permanent role, working in a fast-paced packaging environment where accuracy, safety, and quality are key.
Hours: 07:30 – 15:00 | Monday to Friday + Overtime Available
Main responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machinery in the Finishing & Packaging departments
- Ensure correct jobs are loaded with the right codes and versions
- Monitor and maintain output quality and machine speed
- Complete accurate shift handovers and all required ISO 9001 documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised machine area
- Identify and report any issues or breakdowns promptly
- Support and guide assistants or additional staff as needed
- Carry out preventative maintenance and stock checks
- Follow all Health & Safety, BRC, and ISMS procedures
- Provide cover and assistance across machines as required
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement and lean practices
Required skills/experience:
- Previous experience working in a packaging or finishing environment is essential
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification preferred
- Confident with machine setup, adjustments, and output monitoring
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and BRC requirements
- Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Literate and numerate with attention to detail
