The Diocese of Guildford is looking for a dynamic and proactive part-time (0.8 FTE) Facilities Coordinator to ensure the smooth, safe, and professional operation of our building. This role is vital in ensuring our office and reception services run smoothly, our contracts and suppliers deliver real value, and our team has the space and resources they need to do their best work.
Background
In April 2025, Church House Guildford (CHG) relocated to its newly renovated and refurbished premises on the Cathedral campus at Stag Hill. The building now serves as a modern workspace for the 80 staff of the Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF), offering both desk and meeting facilities. It also features a suite of nine meeting rooms designed to host a variety of internal and external meetings and events for a broad range of stakeholders.
Some of the Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for locking the building at 17:30 daily
- Oversee daily building operations, including opening of the building, managing security systems, key cards, and access control
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire drills and first aid provision
- Issue IT and office equipment support to staff
- Coordinate meeting room bookings, AV set up, and hospitality arrangements
- Manage office supplies and negotiate best-value contracts with suppliers
- Liaise with contractors, Cathedral staff and visitors to ensure smooth operations
- Lead on the desk booking system and promote ergonomic workplace standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in managing a facilities function, including managing external contractors and suppliers.
- Occupational health and safety experience
- Strong IT skills, including confidence with AV equipment
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities

- A natural problem solver with strong communication skills
- Discreet and professional when handling confidential matters.
- Skilled at building positive relationships across teams.

Hours:
This is a part-time office-based role (28 hours per week) structured over five days to align with the buildings daily closing time of 17:30.
