Experienced Landscaper & Project Site Foreman

(Deadline Monday 23rd June @ 9am / Interviews being held W/C 30th June)

This is a genuinely exciting full-time role and key position within Apt Studios. Working with the design team, you will organise, plan, and lead our in-house build team to deliver high-end domestic landscape and garden design projects to the highest standard. This role is pivotal to ensuring Apt Studios can offer a full service—from concept design to master plan in the studio, then garden construction and planting on site.

Reporting to the Design Team, you will manage and coordinate the scope of works, directing our in-house landscaping teams on-site. Communication is key to this role; as Project Site Foreman, you will be expected to liaise with clients, architects, electricians, and other services and maintain direct contact with the design team. You will be responsible for on-site health and safety, maintaining a clean, safe work environment and managing on-site risks. Directing staff and offering encouragement, motivation, and instruction will be part of your role to ensure a positive work environment.

You will be highly motivated, organised, and happy to work as part of a team with a passion for creating high-end gardens and landscaping . Knowledge of construction is essential, with a good understanding of soft landscaping and horticultural knowledge. The ability to lead and manage people is also essential.

You will have project management experience . You will have the skill to interpret design and construction drawings. You will have excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset. Having a passion for this role is essential to drive projects positively forward and achieve high standards of execution of our garden designs.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Onsite Project Lead and Project Manager of the onsite (hard and soft landscaping) teams.

· Responsibility for all Health and Safety on site.

· Assist with completing each project's CDM, Health and Safety Regulations and Risk Assessment.

· Managing staff on site to ensure company protocols and procedures are maintained (i.e. checking attendance on site and reporting absences and late arrivals to HR, ensuring routine breaks are taken, and checking uniforms, including PPE, are worn appropriately).

· Understand the scheduling of works and direct labour requirements accordingly. This could involve managing and keeping the workflow on track for multiple projects at a time.

· Monitoring work timescales is paramount in this role. You should regularly review progress and liaise with the Design team to ensure jobs are delivered on time.

· Ordering materials and equipment based on project requirements and coordinating deliveries.

· Liaising with clients to reassure them during the build process and ensure any problems are dealt with as soon as possible during the build progress to ensure the face of our company maintains a professional and approachable standard.

· Ensuring builds are completed to budget and on schedule.

· Manage tool inventory, maintenance, and keeping the lock-up tidy, organised and cleaned. Ensure broken items are reported immediately so repairs or replacements can be dealt with.

· Environmental impact – minimize waste where possible to reduce carbon footprint (i.e. ensure materials are onsite daily and prevent unnecessary time wasted offsite collecting tools/ shopping for materials, etc.)

· Quality control– ensure the quality of workmanship on site is carried out to a high standard and take the lead on correcting mistakes immediately.

· Manage and monitor performance, conduct, development and training of the onsite team with support from management.
