St Leonard's has been established for 43 years. We offer all year-round care to children aged 2-11 years old. We are set in beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside close to the borders of Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire.
We are looking for a full-time (35-40 hours) Level 3 assistant to join our wonderful team.
Role description:
- To promote the safeguarding and welfare of all children through a safe, secure and healthy environment
- To provide for the holistic needs of the children
- To actively engage the children in developmentally appropriate learning activities to enable them to develop to their full potential
- To promote and help maintain an organised, clean, safe, well equipped and culturally sensitive learning environment
- To observe and record children’s progress
- To communicate effectively with children, parents and staff alike
- To work as part of a flexible team and support colleagues
- To help to create an environment that promotes open and equal opportunities for the children and adults
- To adhere to established policies and procedures, creating an environment of best practice

Qualifications & Experience:
Desirable:
- Practical experience in an early years childcare setting
- First Aid, Manual Handling and Food Safety Certified
- Up to Date DBS Certificate (this will be required for successful candidate who does not hold one)
Essential:
- Sincere and genuine love of working with children
- Level 3 Certificate in Childcare
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing
- A friendly and flexible approach to work
